The history of Chinese education system can be traced back to the Shang Dynasty. In ancient times, the only purpose of education was to train officials for the imperial court. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), our government attached great importance to education. A variety of laws have been developed to ensure everybody the right to receive equal education. After decades of efforts, China sees great achievements in its education. From 1980s, China began to emphasize the importance of science and technology in our education system.
