Since today’s children are the future of tomorrow, a host of volunteers, organized by the Student Union, paid a visit to the Hope elementary school on June 1st to make the children there enjoy a happy Children’ s Day.

The volunteers arrived at the school at nine and received a hearty welcome from the teachers and children. In the first place, volunteers introduced themselves briefly so that they can get to know each other quickly. Then, the volunteers distributed some necessities such as extracurricular books, clothes and stationery to the students, since the students’ living conditions are not as satisfying as that of other schools. Additionally, the volunteers watched the students’ performances, including singing, dancing, and poem recitation, and also organized some recreational activities. Some talented volunteers taught children pop dance and songs, while other volunteers invited other students to play games, which brought the students a lot of fun.

This volunteer activity impressed the volunteers a lot, as it gave the volunteers an opportunity to experience a different life. It is imperative that we hold more such activities to care about the growth of younger generation.
