Should Electricity in the Dormitory Be Cut off After Midnight?

The electricity in the dormitory of some colleges is cut off after midnight to ensure that students have a good sleep. Some people agree with this conduct for it is beneficial for students ’ daytime study, while some argue that this regulation imposes restrictions on students’ private life.

As far as I’ m concerned, I agree with the latter opinion. First, since a college student is already an adult, he can arrange his study and rest without other’ s command. Second, now people’ s life relies on electricity very much. It is inconvenient when a student needs to use an appliance but the electricity is unavailable. Third, sometimes a student may study late. Without electricity, he can not finish his assignment on time and this is not good for his study.

Hence, colleges should abandon this unnecessary operation and offer 24-hour electricity supply to students.
