Should Parents Plan Their Children’s Leisure Time?

Nowadays many parents plan their children’s leisure time. They arrange all kinds of activities for their children, leaving the children little free time. People have different opinions about this phenomenon.

Some people support these parents’ behaviors. They think children lack discipline and have no idea how to plan their time properly, and only with the help of their parents can they arrange their leisure time reasonably. However, others hold the opposite opinions. They think that children should decide for themselves how to spend their free time. Thus they can choose what they are really interested in, and also develop their independence.

As far as I am concerned, the question is not whether the parents should plan their children’ s leisure time, but whether they can do it properly. Some parents always make the plan as they wished, neglecting the interests of their children, which not only deprives of the children’s happiness but also increases their dependence. Therefore, I suggest parents should consider children’s interests more when planning their leisure time.
