Xibaipo, a small village in the mountains of Hebei Province, covers an area of 16 440 square meters. From May 1948 to March 1949, it served as the center of the leadership of the revolution, where the CPC Central Committee commanded the three major campaigns of Liaoshen, Huaihai and Pingjin, and held the Second Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee and the National Land Conference with great historic significance. It is this historical background that gave rise to the great “Xibaipo Spirit”. After years of development, Xibaipo has now become a base for patriotic education and a well-known red tourist destination.
