China is negotiating with 17 countries about extending the high-speed railway network to their territory. Most of them are rich in mineral and energy resources. These rails will be built by China’s high-speed railway standard. The maximum speed can reach 350 kilometers per hour. China has promised to provide them with the technique, equipment and high-speed trains, and even cover the construction cost for the countries that are willing to offer China natural resources. At present, China and Russia have already agreed on building a high-speed line across Siberia.
