Li Bai is highly honored with the title “The Poetic Genius”. He is a prolific poet, composing more than 900 poems during his lifetime. Influenced by Confucian thoughts, he bore great political ambitions, which were reflected in his poems. The major themes of his highly praised poems are as follows; picturesque landscape, friendship, common people’s life, great concern for the war and so on. His poems are characterized by personality, freedom, liberty and imagination, so he holds a significant position in Chinese romantic poetry. His major works are Watching the Fall of Lushan Mountain and Departing from Baidi City in the morning.
