How to Improve College Students’ Social Skills?

Nowadays many college students suffer from poor social skills.

They don’t know how to communicate well or make friends with others. This may become big disadvantages for them.

The first disadvantage may be a limited friend circle, which means they may be deprived of the benefits and pleasures that a wide circle of friends can provide. Other undesirable effects may be potential. In the long run, every college student will finally enter the society, in which nearly no position dispenses with communication. Those who lack of social skills may lose out in intensive competition.

To improve this situation, colleges should realize the importance of social skills for students and arrange some courses about social skills in the curriculum. Meanwhile, students themselves should take time off to take part in more social activities. With the joint efforts of both colleges and students, things will certainly make a change for the better.
