Celebrity Spokesperson

Nowadays, we can see a number of celebrity spokespersons promoting products on TV, Internet or other media. This is a popular trend that we cannot fail to notice.

There is no doubt that the celebrity spokespersons could boost the sale of the product. However, some celebrities who lack a sense of responsibility and the knowledge of the product they represent have become the marketing tool of some companies. Besides, some celebrity spokespersons, for economic profits, help exaggerate the functions of products, or endorse those companies producing and selling fake and inferior items. This kind of behavior has produced great negative impacts on consumers and the whole society.

Though some defects exist, I am in favor of it. From my point of view, celebrity spokespersons play a positive role. As is seen to all, some celebrities participate in social activities and public campaigns, which raises public awareness, and gives rise to the changes of behaviors of the mass. However, those irresponsible behaviors should be rigorously criticized and penalized.
