Is Academic Achievement More Important than Internship Experience?

In the current society, whether academic performance is more important than internship experience remains a controversial hot topic. Some people hold that academic record is the major factor to judge a person’s ability, while others believe that internship experience can better reflect a person’s overall competence. As for me, academic achievement is more crucial for college students to prove their ability to employers.

The following reasons can account for my preference. First of all, academic achievement can reflect the knowledge reserve of college students, which helps the companies evaluate the matching degree between job seekers and the position requirements. Secondly, the academic achievement is now still the vital standard in scouting for talents. In addition, internship experience is not necessarily consistent with future career planning.

In conclusion, although intern-ship experience wins some advantages for applicants in job hunting, academic achievement is the primary factor in determining the first impression. College students should focus their attention on academic achievements and appropriately participate in internship practice.
