Nowadays star chasing is prevalent among many teenagers. They take pop stars as their idols, imitating their way of talking, following their style of dressing, and seeking every chance to meet them in person at great expenses.
Growing up is a process of developing mental and emotional independence, so it is normal for young people to have their idols. But nowadays, young people pay too much attention to celebrities, sometimes disrupting their social lives and school work. We must firmly oppose the irrational star chasing.
Firstly, adolescents should form a correct view of idol worship and not be obsessed by stars. They’d better cultivate their abilities of independent thinking and spend their time and energy studying. Besides, it is advised that they listen to the opinions of their teachers and parents and not indulge in the small circle of star chasing. Secondly, it is imperative for the government and regulators to rectify the entertainment and culture industry. For pop stars, they should shoulder their social responsibilities, regulate their behaviors and deliver positive energy, thus setting a good model for young people. Thirdly, for parents, in addition to letting their children understand what kinds of celebrities are worth chasing, they should also guide them in a reasonable way.
In my opinion, those soldiers who protect our country, the selfless medical staff and pioneers in all fields of construction are the real stars. Young people might as well chase these stars.
