Overcoming the Difficulties in Learning English

For Chinese people, English is not as easy as a native language to learn. Therefore, I, like all the other English learners, have met with many difficulties in the past ten years in learning it. But I managed to overcome them and made great progress.

Spellings and meanings of words are the first difficulty I came up with as a beginner. As to spelling, I tried to associate the word with its pronunciation. As to the meaning, I often learn the meaning of a word by putting it in a specific context.

Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. I had only mastered some basic grammatical rules. But I spent much time reading the articles written by natives. By doing so, I gradually tasted “relish of English language”.

Finally, overcoming these difficulties needs perseverance. I believe that’s why I can make progress in learning English.
