The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is the first rail-road dual-use bridge over the Yangtze River designed by China and built with domestic materials. The upper 4-lane highway bridge is 4, 589 meters long, while the lower double-track railway bridge is 6, 772 meters long. The railway bridge connects the original Tianjin-Pukou and Shanghai-Nanjing railway lines, shortening the train crossing time from 1. 5 hours in the past to 2 minutes now.
