Science did make some great changes, but it has never changed the basic fact of life. Human beings have never conquered the nature; they just submit to the nature, avoiding some avoidable troubles, whereas disasters are always there. The occurrence of earthquakes, hurricanes and the similar tumults reminds people that humans have not gained control over the universe. In fact, human sufferings are far more than natural disasters. In addition, there are man-made calamities and unspeakable personal misfortunes as well. Particularly those personal misfortunes will accompany people consistently for their whole life even in the highly advanced and ideal society in the future.
