The Use of Translation Apps

The use of translation apps is becoming increasingly popular. As this phenomenon attracts public attention, it is necessary for us to be aware of their advantages and disadvantages.

On the one hand, translation apps are helpful to us, for they could be used to translate multiple languages and the translation technology is constantly improved. It will save us plenty of time and promote our work efficiency. On the other hand, they inevitably have some negative effects as well. For ex-ample, translation apps may offer incorrect translation because of lacking knowledge about cultural discrepancy, which would mislead our under-standing. What’s worse, the increasing dependence on translation apps is weakening our critical thinking.

In conclusion, it is suggested that we should have our own under-standing and consideration of the con-text while using translation apps.
