Air Pollution

It is reported that thick fog and haze shroud many parts of China. People have to wear masks when they go out. As air pollution is getting more and more serious, it has become the main concern of people.

Air pollution can have serious impact on human’s health and also severely affect ecosystems. Millions of people die of illnesses related to air pollution every year. In the meantime, greenhouse effects result in warmer weather, acid rains corrode the earth, and frequent haze causes traffic problems.

Confronted with such situation, we should take positive measures. The government should play its regulatory role in proper supervision. For example, related rules should be carried out for reducing emissions of new vehicles and limiting high-emission vehicles. Factories should meet the standards of curbing emissions of pollutants in surrounding cities. Meanwhile, provinces and municipalities of target regions should set up a mechanism for the joint prevention and control of air pollution.
