Chinese martial arts are a part of the traditional Chinese culture. They are created and developed mainly for self-defense and survival, hunting and military training. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, martial arts, considered as the traditional Chinese culture, have been taught generally at schools, specialized training establishments and associations. Chinese martial arts have a great variety of sects which are mutually tolerant and cross each other. Chinese martial arts are outstanding Chinese culture belonging to all mankind.
