China’s Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope ( FAST) is also known as Chinese Tianyan, dubbed “China Sky Eye”. Its scope of observation is already beyond the extragalactic galaxy, even to the edge of the universe over ten billion light-years away. With the aid of FAST, scientific researchers are able to explore interstellar communication signals, even to search for possible aliens. Chinese experts said the telescope, designed and built by Chinese scientists, will remain the global leader for the next 10 to 20 years, and it is regarded as a representative “ business card” for scientific and technological innovation in China.
