Why Is the First Job Important?

For college graduates, the first job symbolizes the entrance to the society. Even before they graduate, many experienced people have told them that the first job is critical to their personal development in the future. However, many college graduates are too con-fused to have a clear understanding about why their first job is important.

The first job has a profound impact on fresh graduates. The main reasons can be summarized as the following two aspects. For one thing, the first job largely determines the industry and social circle the students enter, which also provides them with a plat-form to display their talents. For another, the social circle established during the first job can bring changes in the way students think and deal with affairs, which will affect their future development and the starting point of next job.

In general, I contend the idea that college students should take personal ability and interest into full con-sideration to constantly perfect career planning.
