The above pie chart shows the results of a survey on the recognition of the importance of reading among residents in a certain city. As is vividly shown in the pie chart, people who think reading is important and very important account for the two largest proportions of 42.8％ and 34.3％, while those who think reading is unimportant and very unimportant represent the two smallest of 3.5％ and 1.3％.

The chart reflects a phenomenon that most people in today’s society have realized the importance of reading. And in my opinion, such a phenomenon should be able to bring great benefits to our society, which can be manifested in the following two aspects. First, on the individual level, with the reading awareness increased, people prefer to enrich themselves through reading. This brings about the second aspect of the benefits, that is, on the societal level, the great importance people attach to reading will promote the construction of social spiritual civilization in our country.

From where I stand, the enhanced public awareness of reading can be of great benefit to both individuals and the society. And taking all these factors into consideration, we can come to a conclusion that such a phenomenon will continue in the future.
