While remarkable accomplishments have been made in building a beautiful China and promoting green and low-carbon development, we must also be aware that the structural, root and trend pressures on ecological and environmental protection in China have yet to be fundamentally alleviated.

To enhance synergy between the reduction of pollution and carbon emissions, the key point is to lay stress on addressing the root causes and governing with systematic and comprehensive measures. Meanwhile, we can improve the quality and efficiency of reducing pollution and carbon emissions through their mutual effect and harmonization.
