Is technology making people lazy?

A debate often heard these days is whether technology is making people lazy. Some studies find that the development of technology makes people have the mentality of over-dependence, thus forming the bad habit of laziness. There seems to be some truth in this view. But overall, I don’t think technology makes people lazy.

On the one hand, the development of technology enables people to get rid of those repetitive mechanical work, creating more meaningful and valuable technological positions, so that more people are engaged in tech-nological exploration which requires a lot of mental activities and diligent spirit. On the other hand, while providing great convenience for people’s life, technology also exerts higher economic requirements and the skill pressure, which makes people have to devote themselves to work and study more diligently in order to keep pace with the times to better enjoy the benefits by technology.

Laziness may exist in society, but technological progress is necessary for the advancement of human society, and technological development is not to blame for individual choices and behaviors. We should treat and use technology in a correct way.
