In the past, owning a private car was a luxury thing for most Chinese people. Nowadays, however, private cars are ubiquitous in China. Cars have emerged as an indispensable part of the Chinese people’ s life. People commute and travel by car. The number of private cars in some cities is rising so fast that traffic jams and the lack of parking spaces are becoming increasingly serious. As a result, the municipal governments of these cities have nothing to do but introduce new rules as a way to limit the number of cars on the road.
